I got NO sleep last night, tossing and turning and couldn't stop thinking about my interview today.

It's a great opportunity, but I feel like I'm underqualified for it. PLUS, it's in Fort Worth. Which means that it would be an hour commute one-way. Not fun for 4-5 days a week.

But it pays really well, is the teaching experience I need, and she's pretty much already hired me.

I'm torn and very indecisive. Boo!!!!

You got the interview for a reason so don't sell yourself short, just rock it!

Awww - thank you!!! The interview went really well - I did NOT do well at the practice teaching part (I had to teach her an hour-long pilates class). I think I was just so nervous.

But, I got the job!!! Yay!!!! Now I just need to work on my confidence in my teaching ability Embarrassed

  • Wow the possiblity of rain is so exciting!

Jaymi - Thanks. It's fine. I'll just keep apply and maybe I mean to move back over to FW and get out of Dallas finally.

    Kate - Congrats!! That's awesome!

And that is all it was.  It broke apart before we got any rain.  :(  But the cool 97 degrees was nice!

  • mnkate:  We will definitely need to get together! What part of town are you in? I'll be in North Plano. Are you using a tutorial for your  headboard?

We have a house in Prestonwood - right off Preston Rd and Belt Line. So not too far from you!

Not using a tutorial - at least not until I fail miserably. I have a tendency to not prepare very well and just wing it.

A huge reason we got the house was for the garage - so I can have space to do my refinishing projects. Poor DH never knew that he was getting into a life full of endless craft projects!!!

    Thanks Ladies!

Kate - Where is your husband working again? And where are you guys considering living? I can't seem to keep the location details of the California girls straight! :)

He works in Richardson, and we just signed on a house in Prestonwood. So it will be about a 50 minutes commute one-way for me.

Not ideal, but it's a great opportunity. I just plan on getting a lot of books on tape!!!

    Glad you found a house!

What helped me most with becoming a confident teacher was practice. I volunteered wherever I could just to get the practice in.

  • So, sometimes I hate FB.  I was checking it from my phone, while waiting on hold on a business call.  I'd seen a couple posts on my cousin's wall in the last few days that people were praying for her husband, but I didn't know what the deal was, and didn't want to be nosey if it was something like a layoff that nobody really wants to talk about ya know?  Well, she posted an update on him - he is a firefighter, and apparently he broke his neck!  I have no idea how, or how it is affecting him, but the most prominent bone in his neck is very very broken.  They're having a lot of trouble with the specialists because it's a workman's comp claim, and are still in the "testing to figure out the best treatment" phase.    We aren't close, but you don't expect to hear about something like this - especially about a family member - on FB, and it's kind of got me a little shaken.  Any T&Ps for him and the family would be much appreciated.
