I'll get it started as I'm trying to get myself to the gym.
Anyone been to Charlie's Crab? Thinking that is where DH & I will got for out Anniversary next month.
Re: Thrusday Randoms
Morning.
I've been fighting off a sore throat/cough all week. It's not bad yet, and I've been feeling it coming on since Monday. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse, and just passes on by.
However, H complained of a sore throat last night and T has been coughing for the last day or so. Sigh.
Good morning.
I've been to Charlie's Crab. I think it's a nice special occassion seafood restaurant. I prefer it over Leo's.
I am having that for lunch!
Good Morning!
Robert Randolph was great last night, the crowd was lame as *** though. Since he was opening for Willie Nelson, all the Willie fans got there and set up their camping chairs and then maybe 15% of them acknowledged RR's presence on stage as they sat there. Like, would barely even clap when a song was finished. That bugged me, because he was awesome and deserved a better crowd.
Wow, that's crummy.
That's crappy. What a bunch of douch-nozzles (did I use that right?). At least you guys had a good time.
Question: People were able to bring in chairs? We have Luda tickets and on the ticket it says we can't bring in chairs, but you're able to rent chairs for $2 a piece. Were these the $2 rentable chairs or were people bringing in their own?
The word I meant to use was "ass-holio" not "douche-nozzle". Darn.
Juli, that's such a bummer. R.R. deserves way more enthusiasm!
WOP, it looks like they changed their minds on the chairs. I saw a post from them on FB.
We have a showing tonight. Yay! But, so much to do. We've had 3 weeks with no showings, and we've gotten... cluttered.
They have chairs set up, I assume those were the rentals, then people brought camping chairs so those were all setup behind the other chairs. There was only standing in the far back or on the edges of the stage, but Andy went to STP on Tuesday and said it was setup completely different (peopel were able to stand in front of the stage). So I'm not sure what Luda will be like, maybe they aren't allowing chairs just for that show?
Thanks for the info! I'll have to check this out!
I actually saw on the Rock the Rapid page that concerd go-ers are now able to bring their own camping chairs. I'm glad I looked!
I loooooooooved back to school shopping as a kid. So exciting to get fun new notebooks, colored pens, an organizer, etc., etc. I am a total nerd.
I know, Chymes! I mean I know your excitement, not that you're a total nerd.
I'm feeling kind of disappointed. Her list includes markers and/or crayons, glue sticks, a pencil box, #2 pencils, pencil sharpener and erasers. Also a backpack, but we have that already.
The sociologist in me wonders how that compares to the list in wealthier school districts. I, too, am a total nerd.
Yup another nerd here too! I loved back to school shopping. Hm, I think I might check out the back to school aisle at Meijer later and treat myself to some new pens or something.
Gracie collapsed again last night.
She was playing in the back yard while I tried to make dinner. Next thing I knew she was laying (in an odd position) on the ground. I ran out there and her gums were white and she was drooling. Even though she was conscious, she couldn't move or lift her head. Scared the living crap out of me. But she eventually came around and is doing fine today.
However, I think I may have figured out why this happens. Out of at least 4 of these episodes, she had been given her heartworm preventative within in the last 24 hrs. It would figure, I take her these specialists, spend lots and lots of money, only to find out it is all caused by something I forced her to eat.
How scary! But I am glad that you are on to what might be the cause.
That sounds so scary! And extremely frustrating that the specialists weren't helpful.
The good news is that if it's the medication, then it should be a quick and easy fix. Switch meds and hopefully she'll be fine and it's not anything more serious.
Oh no, I'm so sorry! At least you may have it narrowed down or know how to avoid it in the future. You did nothing wrong in giving her the heartworm meds.
Mira, now you know for sure it isn't heat related.
I'm glad you made that connection, and that it seems an easy fix. I can't imagine the stress you had yesterday: new baby, trying to make dinner, collapsed dog. Phew, glad she's okay now.
Hey nerds! For those of those of you that like to shop for back to school supplies, you still can. There are many great organizations that are collecting the item.
Trinity United Methodist Church on Lake Drive is one of them. They have an awesome community program for the neighborhood kids.
Don't feel bad. Your profession is a big part of your identity (anyone's is, but you've posted about your job a few times, and it seems like you really love(d) it).
I love having this time with the kids, but I am absolutely ready to work more. Greener grass, indeed.
Here's hoping that the back to school ads are making you nostalgic, and that you feel better about your choice in a few weeks.
Thank you for saying all of this. Yes, I really really loved it! I am also glad to know that I am not the only one who is thinking about work.
Ok, I am getting weepy right now writing this. The only other time I was this weepy was when I was pregnant. Good LORD that better not be the reason! LOL!
Sounds like you were a great teacher. What grade did you have? I'm sure you'll have a blast with your son this year, though.
So...someone who has a job that I think I'd enjoy at ArtPrize just put in his two-week notice.
Awesome!
I was an Elementary School Librarian. The BEST job ever!
You are right though, I will have an awesome year with Noah. He is doing something new almost every day!
