So we wanted to cancel our security system with the company that we have. The system came with the house, but honestly we don't use it that much(probably should but the key pad looks like it's from the 80s and really complicated to use). Come to find out if you don't tell them that you don't want to renew at a certain time they automatically renew the contract for you. Well, we are under contract until 2014! I thought we were on a month to month payment. I'm pretty pissed. They told us to get out from under it to cancel we need to pay about $800.
Re: Security system vent
We have SecureNet. We've been with them since 09 when we bought the house. I would have thought they would have let us know also. I'm going to look through our bills tonight to see if they sent something I looked over.
Oh my gosh!!! That's nuts! We pay quarterly for ours and we are always sent something. 2014, that's crazy!
If you dont find anything I would call or look on-line for policies. 2014 just seems crazy even if it were a 2 year contract, it shouldn't go to 2014. I would be throwing a fit asking to speak to managers (not supervisors) to get this corrected and if all else fails I would write bad reviews anywhere I could and report to BBB.
