I also posted this over on TK, but figured I'd try here as well!
DH and I are moving at the end of the month, and just found out that our moving date is the same day that I start classes and my new internship. Basically, I will have NO time in my schedule for a move, so we are considering hiring a moving company. We are in the city (Lakeview), and have already requested quotes from E-Z Movers, the Professionals, and a couple of others I can't think of at the moment. We can't spend a ton, so are looking into smaller companies that may be more reasonably priced.
Anyone have any good recommendations?

When I moved two years ago (also in the city) we used Checkmate Movers. They were awesome!! They had all of our stuff in our new place within four hours (we only moved about four blocks, so travel time was not much).
These guys literally were running up and down the stairs with five or six boxes strapped to their backs!! And nothing broke!!!
They were very reasonable. I think we paid about $400 for the whole thing including the tip. We also had a miscommunication where they were waiting at our new place instead of the old one for about 20 minutes, and they didn't charge me for the waiting time. I would totally recommend them!!!!
