Food help

Next week we are going to Wisconsin to see H's family. I haven't been up since I was about 5 months pregnant and C obviously has never been. His parents are having a big cook out next Friday and inviting EVERYONE...they live in a tiny town, own the only grocery store there, so they know everyone there. I would like to make something for the cook out, but I don't know what to make. I want to *wow* them! Help!!!

Re: Food help

  • When I make jalape?o poppers they're gone in minutes. Half the peppers, de-seed, fill with cream cheese and wrap with a slice of bacon. 375 for like 30min. Corn dip also flies...3 cans mexicorn drained, 2 cups shredded cheddar, 1 cup sour cream, 1 cup mayo, 1 chopped red onion, 2-3 jalape?o peppers chopped without seeds. Mix in cayenne pepper to your taste. Serve it with fritos scoops. Healthier optiona would be tomato and mozzarella skewers or a caprese salad...maybe a yummy fruit salad with a marshmallow dressing?

I'm no help but these are all great suggestions!

  • I would ask Erica for one of her cupcake recipes. They always look friggin' amazing when she posts pictures on Facebook.

  • We had a family get together when H and I were in Maine for vacation, and one of the cousins brought this. It was fantastic, healthy, and seems so easy. Everyone loved it. GL!
