I'm in the market for a new camera since we'll need to take nice photos of our cakes and treats. If you have time, could you recommend a nice camera for a novice that'll give me crisp photos for our website? You seem to know your stuff so I thought you'd be a good to ask :-)
Re: * Brea*
Are you looking for an entry level DSLR? If so, I would recommend getting either a Nikon D3000 or a Canon Rebel XS. I'm partial to the Canon, but really either way is a great value. I would also recommend getting a 50mm f/1.8 lens, they're about $100 for canon, $150 for Nikon, and they are REALLY great for that type of photography.
I did both of these two shoots with that lens:

Oh, and pretty much every single other one on the website too
If you're looking for something a little cheaper and more consumer-y let me know!

Thanks so much! I had looked at the Nikon before but I think I like the Canon better. I've always had cheaper, more goof around Canons and they are great cameras. I was hoping to stay around $500 so both are good options.
One more question...Is your site hosted on Wordpress? How do you like the service? That's one of my front runners for web hosting but I hadn't seen a nice site on it. Yours looks beautiful! Now I'm thinking if I play around enough, I could get something I really like.
P.S. I peeked through your posts and your work is so good. I really enjoyed seeing them all.

I love Wordpress! It makes updating the site so incredibly easy. I'd never go back to designing entire sites in dreamweaver... or worse (like when I started out) coding raw HTML in Notepad! :P
The domain's webhosting is on dreamhost.com, I also have nothing but good things to say about them. This domain has only been around 2 years but I have been hosting my websites with them since 1999. Literally. When I was 10, I got my first website and a couple of years later, I got my first domain-- asweetgirl.com.
I also used Wordpress to do our wedding website which is at wedding.bybrea.com. It's not as pretty as the photography site, but it works
