Wait, what? Re: washing your hair - help a girl out!
I just read in another post that I'm apparently washing my hair incorrectly, and that is why my hair sucks.
Are you supposed to shampoo only the roots and condition only the ends?

Re: Wait, what? Re: washing your hair - help a girl out!
I've just asked the girls in my office ( yes, I called a meeting about this ) and we're all in shock. (granted, only 3 of us are not Chinese - and even the Chinese girls had never heard of this). Very interesting.
I have a feeling we are all going to be coming to work on Monday with fantastic hair.
What are other beauty tips that I should know that I probably don't? Any tips for shaving, eyebrows, etc?

yep- true.
I also shampoo roots (which ends up lathering up most of my hair) and focus conditioning on the ends.
I like to buy Clairol Nice n Easy Colour Seal Gloss Conditioner about once every 5-6 months. I don't have colored hair but it does a fantastic job at adding shine and conditioning the ends. I use a small squirt of it and let it rest on the ends while I shave or exfoliate. Then I rinse it out and my hair is silky smooth! The little bottle lasts for about 3-4 times and I only do it about once every 2-3 weeks.

Use super cheap conditioner for shaving your legs.
Comb conditioner in to dry hair, twist up, cover with a shower cap/plastic bag, and let deep condition for 20 minutes.
I'm in love.

Remember when I said my shampoo lasts like a year. This is why. I also hardly use any at all.

There are also some harsh ingredients to avoid in your shampoo. This page gives a good overview of it:
