Voting no on everything but 2 and 11. You?
And I am voting for McCain.
Re: Voting no on everything but 2 and 11. You?
I still need to do my research on all the props. I know I'm voting no on 8 for sure. 2 is the Animal one right?
Is there a website with info on all the props?
still working out all the props, it IS a lot to read through.
Funny story re: my McCain/Palin lawn sign: My neighbor had returned from picking up one the their kids from school just as I was trying to leave, and she runs up to me, points to my sign, and says "You're voting for Obama, right?" (and I'm thinking kid, can't you read?) and I say no, I'm voting for the other guy, and her dad says "I haven't really decided. You really think he's better than Obama?" (As if it's like choosing between peanut butter brands instead of diametrically different political candidates) And I tell him that I wasn't such a huge fan of Communism, as it really doesn't seem to be working all that well in Cuba or China or the former USSR, but if he wanted to give it a try he ought to vote for Obama. Then he looked REALLY confused and that was my exit....
Obama
1 no
2 yes
3 no
4 no

11 not sure yet, can you tell me more about it?
12 no
I'm voting for McCain.
I think I am going to vote Yes on 3---the Children's Hospital Bond Act since it would directly benefit my place of employment.
I was going to vote Yes on 2---the animal cage prop, but now I'm having second thoughts.
No on 7---I think this one sounds pretty flawed.
I need to do more research on the others.

Legally, a church isn't allowed to tell people how they should vote on anything. They would lose their tax status by doing that. There is currently an Episcopal church in Pasadena that is in serious trouble for telling members who they should vote for.

Joolz- Very much so!! Every year the Catholic church puts out their "views on the propositions and political candidates" in a handout and passes this out to their parishoners before the election. My Mom got hers in the Church Missal on Sunday.
Typically...being the fantabulous Catholic that I'm not...I tend to look at their views and vote the opposite. I just cannot agree with the idea of taking a proposition, scouring the bible for a passage and then linking the two together. Seriously, is this supposed to sway me???
Blah, blah, bleh...My Church doesn't speak for me, I do:)
btw- the hand out doesn't specifically say to vote Yes or No. It basically has the proposition, a bible passage, a link to the Church's website and a forum to discuss your thoughts.
Am I the only one that thinks it's strange how conservative the Los Angeles board is? lol Most of the other boards that I typically frequent are crazy liberal.
Where I am, I've seen two McCain signs/bumper stickers...
I am voting for Obama and haven't finished deciding on all of the props. I am a Christian, but I absolutely agree with doing your own, thorough research on every issue and making an informed decision.
It saddens me when people vote without educating themselves. This goes beyond religion and includes those who vote based off of commercials, skin color, or a single flyer.
