Any travel agents?

We are looking to head back to NY this year for Christmas and prices are crazy right now, like $600+. I was hoping to maybe find a good travel agent that may be able to help.

Do you ladies know of any that you'd recommend in the East Valley?

Oh good luck Stacy!  I know the prices are crazy already.  We luckily bought ours like in Feb., as soon as they became available, cuz now they're about $300 more than that.  Have you checked out multiple airports around there, that someone could pick you up at even if it's a drive?

prices are supposed to drop after august 22nd-ish (the end of their summer season), so definitely keep checking too. i'm sure christmas will still be pricey but maybe there will be a window where you can get them a little cheaper. i think tuesday is the best day to check on airline tickets

Airlines generally don't manage their inventory until 3 months prior to departure and will often blackout all fares below a certain amount.  Try looking in mid September and using alternate airports.  Also, prices will stay high on peak days, so if your travel plans are flexible I'd try checking a wide variety of days.  Holidays will be expensive (there's not much you can do if you want to travel when everyone else does) especially with there being fewer flights than there used to be.  If you are willing to fly on Christmas Day or New Years Eve, you'll probably have better luck.  Also, keep your eyes peeled regularly.  Every once and a while airlines make mistakes in pricing or inventory strategies, and if you see a lower fare, jump on it RIGHT AWAY!  It'll often be gone in a few hours.  I'm not a travel agent, but I do work in the industry.  Good luck!!

Thanks ladies. I've been looking at them for a few months now and the prices haven't quite changed much.

I did hear the ideal time to buy is 3 months out so I will start looking again in Mid Sept but I'll keep my eyes pealed for mess ups! Crossing my fingers for that!

I also heard to not look for flights on the weekends as the prices are more those days and the best day to fly (cheapest) is Tuesday.

I REALLY want to head back there as I haven't been there for Xmas in 3 year but damn, I also don't want to pay $1200 to get there!!

ok so we will likely go out the 21st and come back the 31st

we are planning to fly into Newark because SW flies nonstop to there. It is 467 round trip for those days.

My parents are just going to drive down and pick us up.

Lucy will be riding in our lap (but we'll see if there are any open seats when we check in and we will gate check her carseat)

That's great your Mom will pick ya up. My Mom doesn't want to esp if the weather is crappy.
