Is it weird that I really want to find out if it's worth it to get?
If it's not outrageous I'd totally get my armpit hair removed....the
The thought of never having to shave it again seems wonderful. Of course if that worked out I'd get my legs done.
Would anyone else ever consider getting this done? Or am I just being lazy?
Re: Laser Hair removal
I am right there with you. I so would think about this. I tried for the first time waxing my bikini area....um yeahh..I say screw thattttttt. H was laughing the whole time in the background.
I heard it is very expensive though for the laser treatment. My grandma does this with her mustache, and she definitely has some $ into it. She had to go back several times for some reason. I am very clueless on the whole subject tho.
I remember one of my college friends wanted to get his hair under his beard line removed, and they told him bc his hair is so dark he'd have to go back 4 or 5 times. So I guess I can see it getting expensive that way.
*sigh* Either way, I need a pampering day for myself. Hair or no hair!
I had 5 sessions done on my underarms. It grew back
I didn't have to shave while I was having the treatments done, but within a couple of months of finishing the treatments I was back to shaving about once a week. Now I shave about 2 times a week. I used to have to shave every other day, so it's still an improvement, but I'm disappointed in the results. I was supposed to be the "ideal" candidate (light skin with dark hair). I had IPL done on the underarms. It didn't really hurt bad at ALL (about the same as waxing).
Now I had 2 sessions of laser (non-IPL) done on my bikini/brazilian. The pain was INTENSE. Seriously worst pain ever. It felt like I was being stabbed every time they pushed the button. Hair grew back with weeks of doing those.
I had Groupons for both, so at least I didn't pay full price. HTH!
Oh, well that's disappointing. I had a feeling the results wouldn't be long lasting. But it'd be great if I never had to shave everrr again.
You have to make sure that you get the *right kind* of laser. There are only a few kinds of lasers that are FDA approved for "permanent hair reduction" - most of them just zap for that follicular growth pattern, but don't kill the follicle so the hair grows back.
I had 5 sessions done on underarm using the Light Sheer diode laser, which is approved. I probably should have 1-2 more sessions done to get rid of a few stragglers, but it's eliminated >90% of my hair on both underarm and bikini.
It's not cheap (or painless - but it's about the same as bikini waxing - more uncomfortable than painful), but I'm a huge advocate.
