so if the bell peppers haven't set fruit, I'm probably s.o.l right?

I have limited space and I'll be transplanting some broccoli within the next couple weeks- so if the peppers are not going to actually produce, I was thinking of just pulling them. They have some flowers on them right now, but no peppers. They have flowered before and then drop the flowers before they set. Should I give them a little more time?

I remember reading somewhere that if they hadn't set fruit by August to forget it.

Re: so if the bell peppers haven't set fruit, I'm probably s.o.l right?

  • I transplanted my peppers (both sweet and hot) at the end of May. They set fruit almost immediately and are just now turning red ripe.

Peppers seem to take forever for me here (I'm in MA too). And with cooler temps coming, it's probably a lost cause unless you don't mind eating small green ones.

  • last year I didn't peppers until it cooled down in September
  • I'm having the same issues.  Blossoming like crazy and then they drop.  I haven't gotten even one bell pepper off of the 6 plants in my garden.
