Grilling chicken

Any suggestions for a sauce or marinade that's not BBQ sauce?

Re: Grilling chicken

  • Our go to when we're not feeling creative is balsamic vinaigrette. Have you tried any of those pre-made marinades they sell at the grocery store? Or packets of marinade mix? Like McCormick. I think they're usually by the salad dressing or where ever pot roast mix would be. They are usually pretty good and come in a bunch of different flavors.
  • I love grilled chicken marinaded in any kind of Italian or viniagrette type dressing. Our latest yumminess was Kraft Roasted Red Pepper Italian with Parmesan. I also love their Sun Dried Tomato Viniagrette for grilled chicken.

  • It's not a sauce, but we love grilling it with lemon or pineapple on top. Grill the fruit some too. Mmmm

  • We always use a honey teryaki sauce on our chicken. I think it is made by Ken's.
  • For as long as I can remember, my parents have done what they call "greek chicken". I think it's basically lemon juice, olive oil, basil, oregano and salt and pepper.  I think they just dump it all in a big ziplock bag and let it hang out in the fridge for a while (however long they have -- you could put it together in the morning for dinner at night if you wanted), then throw it on the grill.  It's pretty tasty and light!
  • like Meghann said-- i also do lemon juice evoo cumin salt pepper cayenne and cinnamon!
