So, it's been a year since I have posted/read on this message board (or any other Nest boards). And I seriously doubt you all remember me. But, just in case someone happens to remember little me... I had so much going on, and one thing after the other continued to pile up in my life...and I just stopped keeping up with blogs and boards that I was so involved with before. Well, I'm back.
I won't go into details on what all has been going on, but the basics are...I quit my job and went back to school for medical assisting (I graduate in December), my DH is now working for Wells Fargo and loves it, we are still in the same house, and we are still treating our furbabies like our children. In the last year we've experienced some pretty significant lows, but have come out on top and welcome the slow steady pace life has presented us with as of late.
What has been going on with all of you?
Re: It's been a year....
Hi, there!
I remember you. Not too much has been going on lately. Lots of Niner babies though, so unless you really want one, don't drink the water.
With me personally, stuff has pretty much been the same. Crazy in-laws, wonderful furbabies, slow life as well.
Glad you're back!
Congrats to all the new mommies, and welcome niner babies!
My DH and I have been trying for a few months now, but we're in no hurry. We're trusting that when the time is right, it will happen....but, pour me a glass of that water anyway!
Stand up for something you believe in.
Thanks for the welcome back!
I've missed the conversation and entertainment!
Yes mam, that is me. (and I have a horrible memory, so no worries!)
We did not adopt him, and my aunt and uncle unfortunately gave up custody to him. He is now living with his grandparents. He is seeing a psychiatrist, and he is doing SO much better in the way of anger and depression. He has good grades in school, and hasn't been in any more trouble at school either. I'm so proud of how far he's come.
My husband and I spend time with him regularly, and I think that helps him a lot too. He has developed an interest in basketball (which is my husband's worse sport! haha!), and his grandmother has enrolled him in a church b-ball team. The discipline and friendship from that has really made a difference in his attitude.
We feel really great knowing that he is doing well, and we are still apart of his life. There are some things that really frustrate and sadden me about him living with his grandparents-but in the end, it worked out for the best. Thanks for asking about him, I really appreciate that.
Thanks for the encouragement! I am SO excited to be out of school! It's certainly strange to go from Education to Medical Assisting, but I feel positive that it was the right move! I currently am entering into a volunteer contract with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, so I'm hoping after school I will have an "in" with them, and be able to work there. Medical Assistants are the people that bring you back into the exam room and take your vitals. It's only fitting that I want to be in a pediatrician's office!
