I need to vent (job related)
Long story short--I've been looking for a job closer to home since August 2008 (I currently have an hour commute). I quit my job search last fall when I found out we were expecting G since I knew I'd be on maternity leave and who wants to hire someone knowing they'll be taking 8 weeks off at the beginning of the year? I've enjoyed the hiatus from sending out resumes, making phone calls, attending job fairs, etc. and I've come to terms with the fact that I'll be spending at least another year with my long commute.
HOWEVER, in the past 2 weeks I've been contacted about not one, not even two, but THREE different positions. They are all so much closer to home and are positions I'm qualified for and have experience in. And these aren't positions I've just heard about, they are positions I have been contacted about----as in teachers and principals are emailing me about openings.
I found out about the third position tonight while checking my email--the principal had emailed me saying that they're interviewing this weekend through Monday, hiring Monday, and school starts Thursday. So the one time in 3 years that I stop trying to find a job I get emails like that?!
I'm so frustrated....the timing just sucks.
