breech baby...any suggestions??

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is having a great summer! I went for my ultrasound/OB check up last week and was told the baby was breech. Even though I wasn't completely surprised, I am nervous about the possibility of having a c-section. Does anyone have any suggestions or positive thoughts/experience on having a breech baby. I've been doing all the exercises and will speak to the OB about moxibustion and of course the external version. Until then, I can be found with my hips up and a cold bag of peas on my stomach trying to coax the little one down :)

Thanks in advance for the help and support!

Re: breech baby...any suggestions??

  • How far along are you?  We were breech too (at 25 wks) but by 32  wks she worked her way around (even though I ended up having a c-section anyway!  Which really wasn't that bad if that is the ending outcome for you!) I just wanted her to come the best and safest way that she could!

If you need any help or someone to cheer you along to help you feel better about a c-section - let me know!!

  • Keaghan was breech until the day the boys were delivered... I had a c-section due to other complications with both babies and like KC said, it really wasn't that bad!  Aside from the pain meds (which I am extremely sensitive to anyways) it really was smooth sailing!

  • KC,

Thanks for sharing your story and for offering your support, if I end up having a c-section I will definitely have a lot more q's!  :)

I am 36 weeks along and other than the fact that she's breech my pregnancy has been pretty uneventful. I have an ultrasound on Wednesday which should give up for answers, so fingers crossed that it's positive.

    Thanks again!

  • Love your profile name! And thanks for the reassurance...my sister had a bad reaction to the anesthesia during her c-section, so I think that's why I'm feeling nervous about the possibility of having one. BTW, I'm an identical twin...super cool!

  • Page kclouts -- If I remember right, Ms. Ridley had to be manually turned (unless I'm remembering wrong and it was Ben???)...she could give you more info on the process.

And ditto Fishy -- while at the time I was honestly broken-hearted to have a c-section with #1, it (in practicality) wasn't that awful and was it's own special/emotional birth experience.
