Fort Leonard Wood help

I will be traveling to Fort Leonard Wood for an Army graduation. Can you tell me what airport would be the closest to fly into?

Re: Fort Leonard Wood help

  • The closest large airport would be Lambert International in St. Louis.  I am not sure if there is a smaller air field that you can fly into or not...?  Lambert is about 3 hours from Ft. Leonard Wood.  HTH!

  • There are regional airports in Springfield and Columbia, which would be closer than St. Louis. But, you'll want to check on pricing and the connections. A lot of the flights into those airports go through St. Louis or Kansas City, so it may be cheaper to fly into STL and get a rental car.

  • There is a small airport right near Fort Leonard Wood. It is called Waynesville-St. Robert Regional Airport.  I think only a few airlines fly in and out and there are probably not many cities they fly to or from, but it is worth checking out.  Otherwise, St. Louis is probably your best bet, but it will be about a 2-3 hour drive from that airport.  I saw a ton of billboards on the highway for this airport when I travelled down that way a few weeks ago.
