House Update

Soooo..... TT and I might be going in a completely new direction concerning the house.

We have gotten several bids on the house and while we could afford the house we would be "house poor" meaning we would be able to afford the house and the basic needs so if something happened we would be screwed and no extras. We talked alot about it and we do not want to live like that. So on Friday we started talking about buying a house and keeping it for 5-7 years and then reselling and using the money from that towards the house and loan to build.

Friday I looked online and we found about 4 houses that we liked so Friday after work we rode by them all and even got out and peeked through the windows through 2 of them.

Well we fell in LOVE with one of the houses. It is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath home with 2200 sq ft. It comes with 2.65 acres and already has a barn with stables on it so we can bring horses over there. The yard is in great shape and has been well maintained. Of course we will have to do some cosmetic upgrades like painting and lights.

Here is a link to the house. I will unlink it later today.

Re: House Update

  • I really like that house. It looks like it is a lot of natural light and I like that. The outside is beautiful also.

I agree that it is better to save up and afford the house you can without being "house poor" because you never know what might come up and by saving then you can build your dream house. The price is really good too.

    Good luck!

  • WOW!!!

    That house is beautiful!

I am amazed at the difference in home prices around the country.  Around here, that house would cost about 3 times that amount!

  • well normally around here that house would be closer to 260,000. But it is not in the city school district and that is a big selling point for alot of people. But we already own property in the city school district and plus my parents said we could use their address if need be. Or we could always send the kids to a private school until we build.

We actually are going to look at it tonight! And I got off the phone with the real estate agent and she said the price has decreased by 5,000. So we might could get a steal of a deal cause the roof and air conditioner units are both atleast 14 years old so we might could get them to  replace it or we could get them even lower. Also there is about 2 acres next to the house that we will be able to use as pasture for the horses also.

  • Beautiful.

It makes me sick to think that to get a house like that here it would be at least 4 or 5 times that asking price :|

  • It's beautiful Carmen!!!  That's a great price as well (our home cost close to that and only has 3 br, and not even close to the land you would have).  Have you guys thought about putting a bid on it?
  • Kellie we are going to look at it tonight! Hopefully things work out and we can put a offer on it. I am really excited and the clock is SLOWLY ticking away!
