I didn't actually think my pumpkin vine would grow but now it's like 6-7 ft long, 5-6 branches, kind of bunched up, about 12 flowers at this point.
It's been raining for two days straight here and my pumpkins lost a bunch of flowers and now they're all gross underneath... I think a section of vine broke either from the neighbor's *** cat or birds or wind so it's dying in that area.
Do I need to do anything? Clean it out? Try to pull up anything that's trying to grow under it? Part of it's on grass and it has those little grabby tendrils locked in.
Am I going to get pumpkins?
I also have some brussels sprouts... I don't know what they're doing.
Re: pumpkins
I don't understand...what's gross underneath what?
If the vine is broken, nothinng will grow beyond that point, so you should clip it there and remove the dead/dying parts. More flowers should come. Do you have any fruit yet?
lol whoops i totally forgot about this post.
bad garden ground and dead pumpkin + monsoon = icky.
I need to find clippers for the dead part... It's all intertwined.
I actually found a pumpkin the other day. And I think there's one or two more. I keep losing flowers though from this ridiculous weather.
