KnK Zing Anyone thinking about one?

I really was excited about the Silhouette Cameo until I realized that its compatibility w/ MTC is questionable.  MTC is going to sell a Klik-n-Kut machine called the Zing.  I really want to get away from my Cricut personal (and get away from Provocraft in general) and want a larger cutting space.  Zing looks pretty nifty and easy to use.  Anyone else considering it?

Re: KnK Zing Anyone thinking about one?

  • Yep! I was looking forward to the Cameo, too- but, if they decide to go closed system or to no longer be compatible with MTC, I'll go with Zing for sure. The cutting strength on the Zing is amazing- I want to see a few demos and reviews before jumping in, though. I can't wait to be done with provocraft! :)
  • I watched a few demos on the Cameo on YouTube and it looked pretty awesome.  But like you said if they close the system, then they are no better than PC.  I wish they would show some videos of the Zing in action.  I did watch a snippit of a webinar w/ questions from the public to Andy and some people from KnK and they were describing how they designed it for the software and such.  Also said that you could basically put a pencil/pen into the slot that holds the blade and draw with it! That seems so cool.  They designed it so the blade casing is open and there is no lid covering it.  I'm not to crazy about the price tag, I'd reather it be cheaper, but if the quality is there then its worth it.

  • I have to see reviews on it before I decide if it's one I would want.  I know a few people who have pre-ordered them so I'll wait to see what they say.  The Black Cat Lynx was my ultimate goal but now with the Silhouette SD I feel I am content.  My Expression is sitting collecting dust and is very rarely used.  So at the moment I would say the Cameo is my #1 because of it's price but if it's not going to work with MTC then it's out.  Then the Zing if it is amazing and the Black Cat based on prices.
