Recipe Help

I need help finding a recipe for some appitizers for Parker's party this weekend.  I am wanting to make tortilla rollups/pinwheels, but I can't find a recipe that doesn't include cream cheese.  My FIL doesn't eat cheese.  I know he is really weird!  So far I am going to make bacon wrapped hot dog bites and spin dip.  Since the spin dip has cheese I need something else without cheese.  Any ideas?

Re: Recipe Help

  • Maybe the pinwheels with hummus instead of cream cheese?

Texas Caviar is the most addictive appetizer on the face of the planet.  In fact, I may make a batch of it this weekend and eat it for lunches next week.

You can follow this recipe basically, and add/subtract whatever you like.  We don't use corn or jalapenos, but we do add a can of chopped black olives.  And instead of making that dressing to go on it, just add an 8 oz. bottle of italian dressing.  Serve with pita chips or tortilla chips, and BAM!  You have the best appetizer ever.

  • The hummus suggestion for wraps is good! You need something that's going to hold them together. Hummus/veggies is good. Sour cream would work too - maybe with shredded chicken and salsa?

Other ideas: Veggies and dip, fruit platter, pickle and olive tray. You could also do mini meatballs in a crockpot w/ chili sauce and grape jelly (it sounds weird but it's fantastic).

I also love these pretzels: http://katesrecipebox.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/spicy-pretzels/
