AW: Houndstooth Baby Quilt

For my law school friend who went to University of Alabama.  Thanks to whomever linked the pattern here, I loved it and bought it right away.

The backing is the obnoxious fabric that dyed my sewing machine hot pink.

And the most important lesson of all: All quilts are for Grace.  No exceptions.  (Also, don't freak out at the grossness, it hasn't been washed yet, I'd never let the dog on a quilt or put it on my floor after washing it up for baby gifting)

Make sure to use a color catcher sheet when you wash!

Miss Kitty must inspect all fabrics before during and after they're cut (I tend to cut on the floor b/c I have no large surface to cut on).

I cut on our low coffee table, and Grace's tail tends to wag off squares or little fragments of fabric- whatever I need at that time.

hahaha, maybe.  I've got 3 more baby quilts to do before the end of the year though.  My friends are really fertile people apparently.

I haven't tried to get it out yet because this was finished a little before midnight.  

Washing is the experiment of the evening tonight.  I have color catchers and special Woolite detergent at the ready.

Also, 1 quilt + 1 remnant of the crimson elephants + 3 Shout Color Catchers= phenomenal results.  Not pink at all, which I'm sure Baby Jack will appreciate!
