Stink Bugs are the Devil

I lost my battle with stink bugs on my squash over the weekend. I came back from out of town and the stink bugs literally sucked the life out of my squash. Ho hum. But, we did get a decent harvest for it and it's late August so it's time to start prepping for fall crops anyway.

Re: Stink Bugs are the Devil

  • Seriously!  I hate them!!  Gross, gross, gross.  They killed my 3 zucchini plants, I only got one.  Last year I had so many zukes I didn't know what to do with them.  They also massacred my chocolate cherry tomatoes.  Luckily they don't seem to care for the yellow grape tomatoes.

  • The ones on squash are probably squash bugs. They look really similar, and are just as hard to get rid of. I would pick them off the squash plants and step on them and cut off leaves that had eggs on them. I just about killed my plants, but it seems like I got rid of most of them. Now I am fighting the stink bugs on my tomatoes. Sad
  • I think starlings are supposed to eat them pretty well. Dunno how one attracts them to the yard though.

Uggh. Me too. They are so frustrating. And everywhere.
