Re: Bump Check-In

  • While I do not want him to come any earlier than October 1st, I am so tired of being pregnant. I am always sore and uncomfortable and can not wait to feel like a normal human again. I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER!!

We have our growth scan next Wednesday so I am excited to see him again, and hopefully they do a 3D ultrasound then. We also have maternity pics this weekend which should be fun.

    I heart Ben!!

  • I'm doing pretty good! Still feeling sick to my stomach pretty much every time I eat, which isn't so great. But doing really well otherwise. My next appointment is next week! I can't wait to hear the baby again!

And we've been talking names, which is so exciting. Our families are very disappointed that we're keeping the name a secret IRL again.

  • Doing pretty good today. I went for a 90 minute massage yesterday and it was HEAVEN. For the first time in a month or so, I didn't wake up with excruciating back pain.

We finally got the guest bedroom set up downstairs so that we could empty out Natalie's room which looks fantastic. I'll have to post pics of the remodel sometime soon.

Nick finished redoing the closet in Natalie's room, so now I just need to go through everything from the shower and put stuff away/wash clothes and blankets and stuff. Then we are going to paint the trim and wash the carpets. After that, we just have to wait for her furniture to arrive which I can't wait!!!

  • Doing pretty good here.  Still comfortable overall though I do have my times when he is sitting just wrong and it kinda hurts.  I am starting to feel very burnt out and like I can't get enough sleep even though I am still sleeping great and only get up once a night to pee.

My worst complaint at the moment is the tightness in my hands every morning.  Feels like major arthritis and it takes a while for me to be able to make a fist.  Once I am up and moving it pretty much goes away and my hands just feel sore and tired.  I have definitely noticed a loss of strength in my hands over the past week or 2 when this started.  But it's normal and will go away in a few weeks.

I can't believe my little guy is due in a month.  I'm not sure I'm ready to share him yet.  I have really enjoyed being pregnant and with 4-1/2 weeks left I still haven't hit the point where I am just done and over it.

  • Doing great here. I've been increasingly hungry over the past few weeks, which may be a good thing since I haven't gained anything yet. The doctor seemed a bit concerned during my last checkup, but said as long as I'm taking in healthy foods and eating consistently it's alright.

No other complaints, really, except that it's getting to the point where I ache in the mornings when I wake up...I thought that came later! I have a body pillow to sleep on my side, but doing so all night hurts my hips yet sleeping on my back (like I'm not supposed to) hurts my lower back. And of course no sleeping on my stomach, so my sleep-time consists of a lot of tossing and turning (and getting up at least twice to pee).

This Saturday I have a prenatal massage and full body scrub scheduled and I feel like a child waiting on Christmas! haha

    I can't believe Monday = halfway!!

Shelley - for your sake, I hope you aren't starting to suffer from carpal tunnel, like me. Mine started around 34 weeks, I think. The doctors all said it would go away after delivery but sadly, it's now worse than it ever was the entire time I was pregnant. I can't feel anything in my finger tips anymore and my hands definitely hurt when trying to make a fist in the morning (and even during the day too). I really hope it's gone soon because it's beyond frustrating.

I still sleep on my back.  I move all night from side to back to side.  I have a body pillow but I keep it stragiht across the bed around where my knees are so when I am on my sides I usually have 1 leg under the pillow and 1 leg over and when I am on my back I have at least 1 leg on top and that seems to really help keep the back pain away.  I do find myself with both legs on top of the pillow and that usually feels a little more comfortable than the 1 under/1 over.

Dani that sucks you still feel it.  My wrists feel fine so I don't think it's carpal tunnel.  It's the joints in my fingers, the rest of my hands and wrists feel fine.  I still have feeling in them when I wake up, they just hurt really bad.  I think I mentioned it to my OB at my last appointment and she said it was normal.  I will mention it again on Monday and see what says

Shelley - my wrists feel fine too but my OB said it's still carpal tunnel. Alicia - I haven't talked to them about it since. I guess if it's still bad in another week then I'll call.

You should call sooner rather than later! No reason to be taking care of a baby with that kind of pain in your hands!

  • I remember the hip pain while sleeping so well. That was the worst for me. I had a wedge pillow under my belly and the a pillow between my knees and then one on the other side up against my back. I could NOT wait to sleep in another position. Sometimes I woke up on my back so I guess I moved around.

Dani! I'm sorry you're still having that pain! Hopefully they can do something for you - that's terrible.

  • I'm still battling the m/s monster.  The puking sucks, but it's so different from puking with the flu.  I never imagined it would be like this.

I need to start working on cleaning out the office that will become the nursery.  It's going to take forever.  I have no idea what kind of furniture or theme we will do, and that whole situation kind of overwhelms me.

I also need to call and schedule an appointment with an OB.  He was recommended to us by a bunch of friends.  I don't get released from the RE until the end of my 1st trimester, so I don't know when the OB will want to see me.  I can't imagine that they would want to wait that long.

Sorry you're still having m/s.  Hope it goes away soon.

We didn't do a theme for our nursery.  The walls are gray, the crib is black, I'm hoping to be able to paint the dresser black this weekend - depends on how much prep work it will need since it's stained wood.  And for bedding we just went with a blue comforter with a brown square near the edge and boy themed sheets.  And a helicopter wall decal should arrive via UPS today.

    Thanks!  Me too!

I don't even know what colors to do.  I think I might save some inspiration photos and then show them to Drew and he can help pick one.  Even color ideas overwhelm me at this point.
