Re: Good News Wed!

  • I bought a dress for James' Christening from Monsoon. I was not really looking yet, but I went in and browsed their sale and ended up with a dress that is beautiful and was marked down from ?55 to ?16.50. It was a very happy day.

  • I only have to work 6 hours a day (instead of 7.5) during Ramadan, as mandated by the law :-) Hooray for a shorter work day!

I'm looking forward to a weekend of literally doing nothing but relaxing, sleeping and catching up on my US TV!!! :-)

  • DH and I spent almost all day yesterday cuddling and watching movies while D went to the IL's house. We haven't done that in ages. It felt really good to reconnect as a couple.

I just paid bills and still have money left over for the week. Woohoo!

  • I have a 4 day week because on Friday I'm going to Boston for a girls weekend!

And I got a new case for my iPhone for $5 at "Five Below"-- America's new, classier "dollar" store :)

  • I have finally decided on H's birthday present & impulsively booked flights to Rome, yay!

  • Blushing, that looks lovely! I stayed out fo the Monsoon sale (dangerously close to our supermarket in town!) because I have nothing I need a dress for.

Mind you, I do have a christening in a few weeks and a wedding in October. Hmmm..

My good news: a scrummy Nigella chocolate fudge cake is in the oven ready for tomorrow! :-) (The diet-fail not such good news, but I did go running last ngiht!)

  • Finn starts school today, so I am excited about that. But even more, dh finally got a job, 3 years after we left the UK! He finished his MBA in December and has been looking hardcore since then, so we are cautiously excited. He hasn't received the final offer yet, and in fact has 2 interviews today for other positions, but he definitely will be getting an offer soon!

Yes, it's true. And now that my husband has joined a band as their bass guitarist, I'm the wife of a rock star. Awesome.

  • I had a meetup with BodaciousMommytobe (one of the newbies on the board) and it was really nice to have a coffee and chat! That was my first meeting with an IN from the board! :) Hopefully getting to meet up with GibbyLod this month and maybe AzureAzure in the fall.

Also, DH is getting a couple hundred euros worth of payback with SNCF by his work so that way we can maybe take a train ride to Brussels this fall to visit friends :)

  • That's brilliant frlcb!

MrsP - perfect excuse for living it up! Champagne anyone?
