Resources for Special Ed/Middle School

I'm not a teacher, but I'm working with a group of 7, 8 and 9th graders that are "Young Leaders" in our youth program. We focus on service learning and leadership skills, and meet one hour per month.

I'm trying to develop a curriculum for each of the months of the year. We have one youth who we are fairly certain is somewhere on the autism spectrum. We've noticed that he does will with structure.

Any suggestions for resources on how to work with him?

Re: Resources for Special Ed/Middle School

  • Hi,

We use the Unique Learning System with all of our SpEd kids and they really like it. It does some service learning, but is also really great with kids on the specturm. It is done by the same people who do  News-2-You, and our kids love it.
