I have significantly cut back on shopping there since it's gotten a lot more expensive than it used to be. The quality is wonderful, but I don't need clothing for kids to last a lifetime either. I am aiming to buy coordinating pieces from there from time to time because Ava does love matching Sam. And I can't get all of Ava's stuff there because her taste has recently become a little gaudy anyway (tulle and glitter are musts!).
And then the new lines come out. The Fall for Autumn line is so, so cute!I see my kids in it with leave and pumpkins all around them.
I put two outfits in my online cart so I can coordinate the girls and when I go to check out, the boots I wanted are removed. Sold out in every size. I based Ava's outfit around brown suded bow boots - regularly $56, on special for $20.99, and I'll use a coupon bringing it down to under $17.
So, I call the store closest to my office and they have it and I ask them to hold them. It's a cab ride away, but I cannot get to Palisades anytime before Sunday...so in a moment of mommy insanity, i pay for a cab ride to shop for clothing for my kids.
they had the boots and the skirt and top and hat for Ava, and coordinating leggings, top and hat for Sam.
And I had my 20% off coupon that expires Aug 31. (Saving my Sept. one).
BUT, I was $8 short of $50 in Gymbucks. You can't walk away from gymbucks over $8. So I add the cable tights for Ava. With the coupon - only $7 and change - lol! Add the bow socks for Sam - bingo - $103 total.
And so the cycle of adding a little more, and a little more will continue when I got to redeem the gymbucks in September! because i cannot waste gymbucks either - haha!
eta: and of course from the same line, Ava's was on sale since it's back to school sizes and Sam's in infant sizes were fullprice since it's new stuff. I'm just a sucker!
Re: Gymboree sucks me in every single time
Haha. I just did the same thing this morning. They had all the items I wanted online, but I kept adding accessories to get my $50 gymbucks.
Love gymboree. They have the cutest coordinating stuff!
Childrens place clothes shrink in the wash big time (a giant peeve for me), so I try to stay away from there but they always have cute stuff too.
Carters is still my fav. The clothes wash so well and never shrink in the laundry.
I hear you! I was there yesterday!
My unborn daughter has over 60 pieces (shirts, dresses, pjs, pants) from there right now with tags on. I am obsessed. I am thinking of working there over the holidays purely for the 40% discount before sales/coupons.
Jack has 8 new pairs of pants currently from there I am waiting for him to fit into.
