I am looking for some "new" Halloween party foods. In the past I've done the cheese pizzas that look like candy corns, bread sticks that look like witches fingers, chicken wings (i.e. bat wings), etc. I could do these all again and be as traditional as turkey at Thanksgiving, but I'd sorta like to do something new. What do you ladies do for Halloween party menus?
Re: Halloween party

Last year I made 'bone marrow', which was tortilla wrap pinwheels filled with a cream cheese, jalapenos, black olives, pimentos, and ranch powder filling rolled and sliced and stacked on a platter to look like bones.
I also took 3 different flavors of tortillas (regular, jalapeno-green, and tomato basil-orange) and used cookie cutters to make different shaped chips. I cut out green witches hats, white ghosts, and orange pumpkins, and then toasted them in the oven and offered guac, salsa, and white queso for dipping.
Then I made the carrot cake cupcakes and decorated the tops (plus quite a few other tricks and treats).
already planning for ours:) Halloween is my favorite time of year!
we're doing a soup buffet- pumpkin, cheddar/beer, corn chowder, and tomato bisque. along with homemade crostini.
also doing veggie and fruit platters, mini chicken pot pies and thai chicken peanut skewers w/ peanut sauce and a big organic salad!
i always get labels for the drinks- craft stores sell them- to make the drinks have spooky names!
dessert is crazy! chocolate lava cakes, carrot cake, car bomb cupcakes and more fresh fruit with chocolate for dipping! yumm... is it halloween yet?
