We have an obsession with Elmo!

So, A has a soft Elmo chair, a little car, some Elmo books and Elmo was on of her old stand-up/play at toys. A knows who Elmo is and can say his name and whatnot. Well, 2 nights ago, I found this super cute pair of Elmo pjs (in the boys section) and A had to put them on as soon as she saw them (thank goodness she already had her bath). The next morning she had a melt down when we tried to change her clothes so she ended up wearing the *** to daycare. Last night she wanted to wear Elmo to bed, so we let her wear only the shorts. This morning she had another melt down when trying to change her and I was able to talk her into changing, but taking her Elmo book with her. Does anyone have suggestions to deal with this? My only thought is to run out today and find some more Elmo clothes!!! LOL

Also, does anyone know who might carry a few Elmo items in the girls dept?

  • Haha I don't have any suggestions, just that I'm digging out anythin elmo for you lol. My kids usually get over it in a few minutes, but she loves her elmo lmao!

LOL.. thanks Sara!  Oh my gosh, it is crazy!  All was fine until I got those pjs for her and now she has gone nuts over him!  LOL

  • I would just deal w/ the melt down and she will get over it. I would look for more elmo pj's for night time. Who cares if they are boy. Addison thanks to grandpa was a HUGE Thomas the Train fan ... Thomas everything, shirts, toys, suitcases, plush etc. I let her wear the stuff to bed. I wish they did carry Thomas themed stuff in girls! Do they think that girls don't like Thomas or Elmo, even Toy Story is mostly boy stuff unless you find a Jesse themed item.

  • I think it is ok to let her wear boys tshirts if you cant find girls. Ella has boys baseball and football onesies since they don't seem to make girl cut stuff in normal team colors for babies. A guy I used to work with had the opposite problem, his son loved Dora, not Diego... just Dora.

If I have to get boys clothes in order for her to wear Elmo, then I will.  It would be nice to find something in the girl section though.  Maybe in a little more girly colors.  I think I am going to have this lady on fb make an Elmo outfit for her 2nd birthday.  :-)
  • She needs to go to Sesame Place ;)

Kohls had Elmo girls pjs a few months ago, sometimes BRU has elmo girl oufits, I have 2 outfits from there...what size is she in? If I have something she fits and you dont mind used I could send it to you!

  • I think I have a pair of Elmo slippers too! Size 5/6

Monica ~ Thanks, I'll have to go take a look.  Today, it was so funny, she started to throw a fit because she didn't want to take off her elmo shirt and it took a couple times of telling her (she had just woke up) that she didnt have elmo on.  She said 'Oh" and then was fine with changing.. LMAO.  It was the funniest thing.  I don't mind used clothes at all.  She is in a 12mth bottoms and 18mth tops.  Size 5.5 shoe.  I'll msg you on fb :-)  Thanks so much for thinking about us!
