do you have a china cabinet? Do you store china in it or something else? Do you consider them to be outdated?
We have one that used to belong to my grandparents - they got it when they got married 65 years ago. I don't have any china, but I do have a special set of dishes that I bought in France that I display in it. I like it a lot, but honestly, I think it's the dishes that make me like it.
This question inspired by http://colourmehappyblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/are-china-cabinets-dated-yay-or-nay.html.
Re: china cabinets?
We don't have one, but only due to lack of space. If I had the space, I would like one. I don't consider them to be outdated, depending on the style.
ETA: I don't think china cabinets have to be used specifically for china. They can be used for nice dishes, sentimental knickknacks (like the floating wedding hands, ha ha) or in the closed parts all the extra dishes and kitchenware stuff that there is no room for in the kitchen.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Thanks. It's from World Market. We have this table:
But with fabric taupey chairs that are more modern & comfortable. They look kind of like this....but a darker taupe/tan color.
I have no china cabinet, or even dining furniture. We literally only have a kitchen table and chairs. Our dining room is our office/craft room/wine storage room right now.
I'd love to have a more modern look personally, but we'll likely go more traditional when we decide to go there (after we're done with the military moves, most likely) because we inherited DH's grandmother's china, and it's very traditional. It's in awesome shape, so I'd love to display it, but will likely have a time trying to find something with a more modern, simplistic look that won't make it stand out like a sore thumb!
