Figured I'd start a new post since there aren't many every day lol.
We decided to not tell the kids anything about Cedar Point or the Safari thing and it worked out so well. We drove right past daycare and when they asked what was going on I just said we're taking the long way. We made it out by Davis Besse before they asked again, and Haleigh just said "mom said we're taking the long way" and they went back to playing their DS games LOL. McKenzie guessed that we were going to the beach.
The Safari drive-through thing was awesome, we were the 3rd car to go in so the animals were all very excited to see us, they were halfway in the van with us. The giraffes were amazing
Rob got the big longhorn steer to come over to the car and Haleigh really freaked out, she was screaming "NOOO STOP, DRIVE MOM! DRIVE!!" Hayden stood in the back of the van just watching with big eyes, he finally threw some carrots out the window and went back where he was safe. But the girls were hanging out the window, feeding and petting everything. a big buffalo (bison?) stuck his head inside my window while I wasn't looking and Rob tried to get it to lick my face.
And they LOVED Cedar Point. After the Safari thing, they wanted to play on the playground there so we told them we were leaving to go to a bigger park (haha)... and they were so into their DS games that they didn't notice the signs or anything until we were on the causeway and Haleigh looked up and screamed "THAT'S A ROLLERCOASTER RIGHT THERE!"... they were quite impressed with CP. Haleigh is six and she rode everything she could at least twice including Iron Dragon three times. She was really bummed to be about an inch short for all the big stuff. Kenz is 8 and she was really into everything too, she rode Gemini with Rob and liked it okay.
Hayden (just turned 4) wasn't too thrilled with anything except the baby rides. He had 3 requirements for the rides he would consider... they had to have a
seat belt (lol), they couldn't be fast, and they couldn't have flips. I was getting bored with the cars that go in circles so I just started taking him on stuff (nooo Hayden, this one isn't fast...) and he had a really good time. He ended up riding the snoopy rollercoaster with me, which is a really crazy ride for the size kids they let on there... that's one that takes your photo on the ride and he looks absolutely terrified, but he said he liked it.
Nobody cried or got lost, or even sunburned, so I think it was a good day ![]()
