Pavement Pounding Finally Pays Off

This week I have been going out to the schools I've applied to and following up in person since I haven't heard anything recently. In some cases, there's no one around (although the doors to the buildings are open). In other cases, they've just filled the position and haven't been notifying or taking the posting down. That's common but annoying. But since I haven't heard from any of the jobs I've applied to in the last few weeks, I am getting desperate. So I went to one school today that looked nice. They had filled the position I applied for but they had just posted another FT one that I am qualified for. It's not the ideal position for me (it's teaching the one class I am credentialed for but haven't taught before) but it's at a school that's nearby. So I talked to the woman who in the office who reviews the applications and at least she knows my name and that I took the initiative to come in and follow up. So wish me GL that I get contacted for an interview. They've already started school but they still are hiring as they are finding out how many students they have... you'd hired me right? (I wore a black jacket over the top)
