Raleigh Durham Move

How is the area for a single 30 something (with 2 large dogs)? I'm debating between a job in Dallas or at a university in your area. I'm coming from the Seattle area. Thanks!

Re: Raleigh Durham Move

  • Raleigh is an excellent place for young professionals. The downtown culture caters mostly to the happy hour crowd, in my experience, and is SO dog-friendly! IMO, from what I've heard from other people, Raleigh is better than Dallas :)

  • I live in the SW area of Durham and like it a lot. Durham sometimes gets a bad reputation but it's just like any other city where there are nice areas and some not so nice areas.  I was single when I moved to Durham 2 1/2 years ago. I work at Duke and love it here!

Raleigh is nice too, in particular I love the five points area. Both towns are good for young professionals.

Let me know if you have any specific questions about the area. HTH!
