I have the same pollen/food allergy problem.  It started with fruit and some veggies but then I started getting reactions when I would eat almonds, so I got worried about developing a nut allergy and saw an allergist.  He told me that if you really like a food that you can't eat, if you cook it, it changes the protein structure so that your body doesn't confuse the food for the pollen and you won't get the same reaction.  So now, I'm the weird girl at work who microwaves all of her fruit, lol.  With apples and peaches, I can't eat them raw or I get a really bad reaction so I slice them and sprinkle cinnamon on the night before, microwave them for 45-60 seconds, and it's sort of like healthy pie filling- it's weird, but delicious!  Just a suggestion.  I also microwave pears sometimes, but had to stop eating things like plums, cherries, & almonds.

  • thank you, I've only ever had a problem with walnuts before but this sounds exactly like my problem

Dr. Oz says cinnamon helps lower blood sugar in the body!
