If one of your FB friends is chatting with you and sends you a link to one of their videos, asks for your help to fill out an application, do not answer. This is a hacker. I've been hacked by my supposedly 12 year old cousin. I didn't see it coming because I asked her about school and vacations and the hacker answered! The hacker then sent me the link and I clicked like an idiot.Told him/her it didn't work and they said they would try again.
As a result, my FB has been hacked and my hotmail too. I regained control of hotmail and locked my FB for 24 hours. I had to identify a few of you on pictures to prove I was really the owner of the FB account.
Re: Facebook PSA
Exactly. I've been on the internet since 1998 and it had to happen now. Have my hotmail account since 2002 and it has never been hacked. Well now I'll be even more careful. I'll ask random questions for my friends to make sure it's them.
Holy crap! That is some scary stuff!
I keep getting emails from my daughter from her old hotmail account, with an upbeat message and a link. Um, yeah. First of all she never calls me by my first name, she doesn't type/write like that, and what on earth would a 12 year old child who vacations with me be doing forwarding me pics of her last vacation to some sunny resort and asking me to check them out?!?!
Now I have to worry about chat sessions. Greeeaat.
