Hi! I'm throwing a joint Birthday Party in Oct. for my daughters who will be turning 3 and 4 years old and am searching for cute, inexpensive ideas esp. re: decor, games and favors.
It will be on a Sat. from 2pm to whenever - costumes and dress-up highly encouraged (some adults will dress-up some won't). Probably a dozen or so younger children - mix of ages. I'll do balloon animals, hats etc. myself and might hire someone to do face painting and magic or games. Or try to do that myself as well.
For menu - Antipasti, Lasagna (I'm known for it and can make ahead and freeze), Salad, Swedish Meatballs, etc. (would also love some cuter fall/Halloween themed recipes to fill in). Probably order plain Pizza for the kids.
Pinata? - my kids don't eat candy yet (maybe after this holiday they will...) is there anything else we could fill a pinata with? The longer I can hold them off on candy the better.
Thank you in advance any and all suggestions are welcome.
Re: Halloween Children's Party Ideas Please...
Here are some cute decor/food ideas I've collected:
ice cube hand
hot dog mummies and ice cube spiders
Myriad of Martha Steward recipes. (I've tried the ladies fingers and they turned out fantastic! Actually, I dare say they looked way better than Martha. They looked so gross, and tasted great)
funny decor idea
for the adults?
gross guacamole
More cute ideas from Martha
cupcakes
cookies
and a snake wreath!

Love it! Love it! Thank you both so much - tonight after my kids go to sleep I am going to start surfing and planning.
Cheers!
DIRT CAKE! I am a October baby, and dirt cake was always my favorite. I cant find any amazing pictures, but there are tons of recepies and pictures out there.
Smoking punch is cute as well!

Ingredients 1 can lemonade concentrate 1 bottle jar white grape juice 2 pints water 2 liters Canada Dry Ginger-ale (not heavy in caramel) OR, 2 liters Sprite/7-Up/no name lemon soda 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring optional Method To make it ?smoke? put dry ice in the cauldron instead of regular ice. Pour the punch into a punchbowl that fits within the cauldron and pour water onto the dry ice. Do not put the dry ice into the punch. Water will activate the dry ice to create fog.Something to put coke bottles or juice boxes in
Decoration ideas! Or even have the kids decorate them!
