We had lunch at Christian's Tailgate yesterday and for some reason I'm always perplexed about the tipping situation. If you're not familiar with the place, you walk up to the bar, order your food, and then pick it up at the window when they call your number. Really the only person servicing you is the one taking the orders at the bar and the cooks making the food. You also take your trash to the trash can when you're done so there isn't a bus boy. What do you think? Do you tip at these type of restauants that are pretty much self serve? The credit card receipt has a place for a tip.

Re: To Tip or Not To Tip
Ditto.
I think all CC receipts print out with a space for tips. I don't think there is an option to remove that, so it's not necessarily a suggestion from the vendor that a tip is wanted.

I went to the one on I-10 & Washington. There's no wait staff. I've been to the midtown and the new one in the Heights where they do have wait staff and I do tip there.
