Hi there,
My name is Zoe I am British woman currently living in Germany with my Texan husband but in 7 weeks we will be moving to South Carolina.
Just wanted to say Hi and hope to get to know you all better x
Re: I thought id introduce myself ..
Wow, you are the definition of an international nestie! How'd you end up in Germany with a Texan husband? Welcome to the board!
I'm leaving Israel to move back to Georgia in a few weeks, but these ladies are home and I'm not leaving them. No matter how hard they try to kick me out.
My Israel Blog!
yes even before meeting my husband i lived in 4 different countries so living abroad has never fazed me !
I actually met my husband on Myspace (lol!!) i came across his profile - thought he was terribly hot and then saw he was in Iraq - so I sent him a random message wishing him Merry Christmas (yes it was Christmas day!!) He responded within a hour and from there we just went onto IMing and then him calling me.
2.5 months later he flew to NY (i was living there at the time) to meet me and we will have been together 5 years this Christmas coming!!
Hi and welcome! Good luck w/ the move! I like SC alot, hope you will too!
My H and I are Americans living in southern IT. For the bonus round, my SIL is British, named Zoe, married to my American brother, and recently moved back to the US from GE (Colorado though
).
My Husband is a Infantry soldier based here in Germany so that's how we got here!
Hi
Neither my husband or I have ever been to SC but ive heard nothing but amazing things so we are really excited!!
is IT - Italy? we actually spent our pre deployment leave in Tuscany and loved it!
thats so funny about your SIL being british and having the same name!! Defo bonus points!!! How are they finding the US? is she enjoying it??
Where in SC will you all be stationed?
Welcome! I'm an ex-ex pat
We lived in The Netherlands for three years and now we're back in Virginia.
Yes... sorry, we're in Naples, Italy. Wish we were in Tuscany, beautiful area.
SIL likes Colorado quite a bit-- they actually lived out there for a little while (abt a year) while my brother finished school back in the '90s. I think her biggest complaint is that American chocolate pales in comparison to "proper" English chocolate. And, at least according to her, even the exported British brands "aren't the same". All things considered, not that big a deal
Hi and welcome! I'm a Californian and am married to an English guy. We met in SF, then lived in London and Vancouver before coming back to CA to have DS.
Good luck with your move!
Welcome!
I'm an American living in London with my English H.
Bio
we will be based in Columbia SC we are both very excited as in the last (nearly 5 years) weve spent around 7 months in the same country and so for the first time we will have no war zones!! and no 12/15month deployments!! we cant wait!!
Do you miss the netherlands?? i love it there!! been on holiday a few times!
Yes i loved Tuscany. Ive never been to Naples but heard great things!
My best friend here is from Colorado and actually most army wives want to be sent to Fort Carson (Colorado) as its so beautiful and a great post! I have to agree with your SIL - love me some British Cadburys chocolate!!! Hershey tastes like mud to me!! LOL!!!
Thank you
I lived in London most of my adult life !! Im originally from Leeds though.
Thank you - we are gonna need it! we are still waiting on our visa interview and its already taken 3 months!! heres hoping the move and visa process quickens up as my hubs new report date is in a few weeks!
Thank you! how do you like London?
I work for a Kiwi company - Les Mills!! Love the brand and really hoping to maybe visit New Zealand one day! how do you like it?
My husband was stationed at Fort Gordon (about an hour south of Columbia). That is going to be an interesting experience for you after all your travels
At least you'll be together! The area is really good for outdoors activities though.
I loved the NL but I don't miss it. I'm still in the honeymoon period of living back at home.
Welcome to the board! I'm an American living in Scotland with my Scottish H and our Scottish-American son.
Great story! There are a few of us who have met our SO online.
I've never been to Leeds, closest I've been is Manchester and Blackpool
Hi and welcome!

ahhh so you know the military life too!!! your right i am just so excited we finally get a substantial amount of time together (even being a Drill Sgt and him working long hrs) will be a blessing after 39 months spent in war zones in the last 5 years!
im so great you are loving being home!!
