  • Wow, you are the definition of an international nestie!  How'd you end up in Germany with a Texan husband?  Welcome to the board!

I'm leaving Israel to move back to Georgia in a few weeks, but these ladies are home and I'm not leaving them.  No matter how hard they try to kick me out.

yes even before meeting my husband i lived in 4 different countries so living abroad has never fazed me !

I actually met my husband on Myspace (lol!!) i came across his profile - thought he was terribly hot and then saw he was in Iraq - so I sent him a random message wishing him Merry Christmas (yes it was Christmas day!!)  He responded within a hour and from there we just went onto IMing and then him calling me.

2.5 months later he flew to NY (i was living there at the time) to meet me and we will have been together 5 years this Christmas coming!!

  • Hi and welcome!  Good luck w/ the move!  I like SC alot, hope you will too!

My H and I are Americans living in southern IT.  For the bonus round, my SIL is British, named Zoe, married to my American brother, and recently moved back to the US from GE (Colorado though :)).

    Hi

Neither my husband or I  have ever been to SC but ive heard nothing but amazing things so we are really excited!!

is IT - Italy? we actually spent our pre deployment leave in Tuscany and loved it!

thats so funny about your SIL being british and having the same name!! Defo bonus points!!! How are they finding the US? is she enjoying it??

  • Where in SC will you all be stationed?

Welcome!  I'm an ex-ex pat :)  We lived in The Netherlands for three years and now we're back in Virginia.

  • Yes... sorry, we're in Naples, Italy.  Wish we were in Tuscany, beautiful area.

SIL likes Colorado quite a bit-- they actually lived out there for a little while (abt a year) while my brother finished school back in the '90s.  I think her biggest complaint is that American chocolate pales in comparison to "proper" English chocolate.  And, at least according to her, even the exported British brands "aren't the same".   All things considered, not that big a deal Big Smile

I loved the NL but I don't miss it.  I'm still in the honeymoon period of living back at home.

We did the interview here(in the States), but it really wasn't too bad. It just takes for flippin' ever to take care of all the paperwork and for everything to come though.

I've never been to Leeds, closest I've been is Manchester and Blackpool Embarrassed
