Coffee Drinkers

If/When you make coffee at home which brand do you prefer?

What is your coffee to water ratio?

Another old nestie with a new name.

Re: Coffee Drinkers

  • We buy the Dunkin Donuts Vanilla coffee. I have no idea how to make it though. The coffee we have is probably 2 years old.

  • starbucks iced coffee blend or fair trade sisters blend (from serrv.org)

I use 3/4 c fresh ground coffee to a 12 c pot, i only drink iced coffee. when i make hot coffee for others, i use the 2 tbsp. per cup guideline, i have a 2 tbsp. scoop from starbucks that i use.

  • I use Kirkland Brand beans (they're actually Starbucks, bought at Costco).

I do the 2 tbsp per cup guideline as well.

  • I buy whatever coffee is on sale & I have a coupon for when I need to buy coffee.  We have an 8-cup coffee maker so our ratio is 1 heaping tablespoon for every 2 cups and then I throw in an extra tablespoon at the end for good measure.

  • We get Joffrey's Jamaican Me Crazy. I use the little scoop that comes in the bag and do a heaping one of those per cup....but I usually add in an extra scoop at the end b/c we both hate weak coffee.

  • I use Folgers at home, 3 Tbs for 4 cups.

  • Folgers half caff and we do the 2/1 ratio. We bought Maxwell House on sale last week and I don't like it as much. Typically I time buying my coffee when it is on sale.

  • I have a Keurig, so I buy all kinds of different coffees. Whatever sounds good usually, but my favorite is Donut House Chocolate Donut. It's so good. I don't have to bother with water to coffee ratio, it does it for me, but when I make my own I usually make it weak. I like my milk and splenda with a little bit of coffee.

I'd love to have a Kuerig. They make hot tea and hot chocolate inserts, right? Maybe I can sell DH on the idea with that.

I drink more tea than coffee and Keuring tea K Cups are awesome. They have tons of hot chocolate options too.

  • We typically buy BJs brand.  I think I usually fill the pot to the "8" mark and put in 6 heaping scoops of coffee.  I haven't made or drank coffee in about a month though.

  • I buy what's on sale. I have Seattle's Best right now. I just make it iced like PW so there isn't much measuring.
  • It depends on who buys the coffee. If I buy at the store, I usually get Dunkin Donuts dark roast. If DH buys, he gets medium roast. He likes his a lot lighter than I do. But if I splurge, I buy espresso roast from a farm in Kona, 2 pounds at a time. Mmmmm

I also do the 2 TB: 1 cup ratio.

  • Whatever's on sale. And I always bought breakfast blend (I have it at breakfast, right?) until Ashlee gave me that iced coffee tutorial and now I know I like darker roasts better.

I fill it up to the four and use about three tablespoons.  Double if it's going to be iced coffee.
