Going to dinner tonight - restaurant recs (again)
I know this has been asked a bazillion times, but TH and I are having a date night tonight. We're looking for a place downtown (or that area) that we haven't been to. Any suggestions?
No Sanchez, Chop House, Bullshead, Leo's, Charley's, 25 Kitchen, McFaddens, HopCat, Electric Cheetah, BOB, Tre Cugini, 616, Reserve.
Thanks!

Bartertown Diner (vegan or vegetarian place)
Rockwells - Republic
One Trick Pony
It's not super fancy if that's what you're asking. It's a sports bar type atmosphere, but classy. I like it a lot, but I'm more of a casual dining person.
I personally really like Rockwells food. I've been there twice and really enjoyed it. I had an amazing, yet inexpensive grilled cheese there. So good.
Talk to Em K. about it. She loves it there if I remember correctly.
My vote is for Palace of India.
This. Although at Rockwell's, I was drinking so i can't remember if I liked the food or not. I typically like any food I don't have to cook. I do remember that the atmosphere is cool.
Not downtown, but Twisted Rooster is having a Made in Michigan Entree tonight that benefits Local First

We loved the food at Rockwells/Republic - that's where I would recommend.
We tried Peppino's the other week and it wasn't all that great. Actually my order (the veggie wrap) was down right not good at all.

But you can't go wrong with the pizza! Definitely not a date night type of place unless you specifically want a sports bar/pizza environment. Now I want PIZZA!
