We got the new doors installed in the kitchen/hallway, more trimwork
I got started on the nursery bedding (pics in blog)
I went to Crab Fest at National Harbor- delicious but so salty/ Old Bay-ee. Then I made the intelligent decision to go out for restaurant week with H, and eat tons more.
I was sort of ill yesterday from the gluttonous Saturday so I quilted and went to Joann's. Nothing like stocking up on white Kona for $3.50 a yard. The new baby quilt is going to be something special because I don't love the colors together, but it isn't my nursery so it isn't my choice.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Friday: We went to dinner with my dad for his birthday at Copperhead Grille (MMMM!!! Very yummy!)
Saturday: I went wedding dress shopping with my SIL who is newly engaged. It was a lot of fun. She is going to look gorgeous!
Afterwards, DH and I babysat this handsome man:
While my brother and his wife went on a birthday celebration dinner for her. He is the sweetest baby! I'm totally smitten by my nephew
Sunday: I worked until 4:30pm in the Fitting Rooms (crazy stuff going on with this remodel!). Then, we stopped by DH's grandparent's house for a Clam Bake. DH is in NYC this week for training for work and I'm currently there with him now until tomorrow afternoon!
Friday we went into the North End to one of the big Italian feasts, had some oysters and then went to a tiny seafood/Italian place that we've wanted to try. It was good and the people sitting next to us were a younger couple from Ohio so we chatted with them for a while. It was fun.
Saturday - Gym and then grocery shopping for Thai night with friends. Ended up having to go to a couple of places to find rice paper wraps for summer rolls. Then made shrimp summer rolls which took way longer than one would hope. Thai night was very fun, had a lot of wine and fell asleep on the car ride home

Sunday - I was very productive but stayed in my PJs all day. We moved the old dresser out of our bedroom, vacuumed everything, did laundry, cleaned our kitchen and got a few other domestic-y things done. Then one of Jon's friends randomly stopped over for dinner..which was unexpected.
Saturday we got an estimate to fix our garage (for CHEAP!), went to the sweet corn festival with the ILs, decided to go to Jamaica in May
Sunday DH went back to work, so I got a haircut, went to lunch and shopping and a beer with some friends. Then I got really awful, awful pain and ended up in my own ER for about 4 hours (imagine having a pelvic exam done by your friends -- not very fun). Luckily everything looks fine (no infection) but I feel like ass.
Today I'm chilling on the couch with my heating pad waiting for DH to fill my shiny new vicodin script.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
We had our baby shower in NJ on Saturday...it was great! I can't wait to post some pictures of it.

Friday I ran a bunch of errands, then headed up to a friend's house to hang out before her SP. Did my demo and everyone's orders, then hung out til after 1am with the girls. Made for a very tired drive home.
Saturday: slept in, did a bunch of stuff around the house - was in uber productive mode. Then had dinner and watched a movie with H.
Sunday: Did some major shopping - bought a new bedroom set, and the flooring/new vanity for the downstairs bathroom we've been needing to re-do. Canned some tomato sauce, made dinner. Got caught up on some blogging.
Friday- waited patiently for Mark to get home and hung out with the neighbors (I have great neighbors) only to find out Mark had a super flat tire (blew out on the highway at 10pm). I took him my tire iron since it was so dark he couldnt find the one in the car. We ate a late dinner and went to bed.
Saturday- 5k in the am, some market shopping and dinner at a Creole place we love on the Ohio River.
Sunday- early rise to take the guy we mentor to a Leadership retreat, breakfast at First Watch, outlet mall shopping and regular mall shopping, back to pick him up in a hail storm, and a great dinner with Mark. Not going to lie it was hilariously fun!
We DROVE!!!!
Saturday was my cousin's wedding. It took us 1.5 hours to get there (and 1.5 to get back). The wedding and reception lasted 2 hours. It was a cute wedding (they paid for it all themselves and her grandfather was the minister) and a dessert reception. Then when we got home, we went out to eat and bowling with BIL/FI. I've learned that my future SIL feels the exact same way about our ILs as I do. I feel like I have an ally now. I want to marry her.
Sunday we drove to Penn Hills (2.5 hours there and back) for my cousin's 1st birthday. We stayed for about 2 hours.... We were in the car this weekend more than we were at the places we were going. Plus Sunday was Buddy's first day of "school." He learned about bitter apple spray.
BUT, after 3 sprays all we had to do is show him the bottle and he quit barking at his classmates and decided to work. So we bought a bottle as a threat. He did do really well, considering he tested out of the beginner class and went right into the intermediate. We're working on sit with distractions and heel. We've decided he has doggie ADHD...He probably piddle-farted around for the first 30 minutes of the class (barking at the other dogs or watching them instead of us), then did REALLY good for 20 minutes, then the last 10 minutes he just said "eff you mom and dad" and sat and watched the other dogs.
Friday: we had a family dinner at my Uncle's house complete with Dad and stepmom! We had so much fun; I got to play with my cousin's almost 3 year old daughter and meet her new baby, Colin, who was born at the beginning of June and is an adorable combination of Charlie Brown and old man
We had a delicious dinner, drank ate sancks and just hung out talking into the wee hours of the morning...it was fantastic.
Saturday: woke up to a sexy time surprise when Jay got home from work, spent the day doing laundry as it rained all day long and other household chores, made a delicious caprese pasta bake for dinner, returned the favor and woke Jay up in a similarly pleasurable fashion and then we ate dinner and hung out watching a movie...another fantastic day!
Sunday: slept in, finished the laundry, did some cleaning up outside, Jay and I did some planning for some upcoming events we have (ie football season) and then we went and picked up my Dad and stepmom, took them our to one of our favorite pizza places that they haven't been to since before they moved and then took them to the airport. Stopped and did some grocery shopping on the way home and spent the rest of the night watching trashy tv and reading a magazine...and we had a hat trick of fantastic days.
It was a weekend of win as far as I'm concerned!
Late to the game, but whatever is new?
I don't remember Friday, so something tells me it wasn't that exciting. Seriously, I'm sitting here and I can't remember a thing I did.... wow....
Saturday I spent the day with friends down at the Newport WineFest. Talk about being too old for something.... but it was fun!
Sunday Chris and I wanted to spend the day together and out of the house, so we brought Sam to Castle Island, and it was nice for a good 45 minutes before the rain started. Then we went home, changed, regrouped, and headed back out to CPK for lunch. Nom.
