Helloooooo

Wake up, people!  What does everyone have going on today?

Twin boys due 7/25/12

Re: Helloooooo

  • Hmph.

I finished the games for Stan's bridal shower this weekend and started teaching myself how to knit.  I found a really convincing 22 page thread re: family cloth on another forum and am actually crazy enough to consider it. Indifferent

  • I'm thinking of getting a cheap-o ajility course for my chiweenie. He jumps super high, like 3 1/3 feet off the ground. I have a cat tunnel for him already. And maybe I just need a hula hoop then order the weaving bars. He is stubborn and very food driven. But perhaps I should just get sand for him to dig in since they do not like their swimming pool. Oh decisions...

my sister does it for pee only. Since her household is two girls and she does mama cloth as well, it was super easy to do and I am thinking about it. I use recycled TP as it is and get 12 rolls for 3.99

  • I'm so super jealous of all of the nestie Love that is going to go on at Stans wedding.

Not much going on here today, possible play datelater on, but I'm not holding my breath. Once DD decides shes capableOf napping, I'll be doing more research on homebirth. It sounds life Tricare will cover itif you have a CNMW, but I can't find any in my area that don't work solely at hospitals. Le sigh.
Also, I'm already looking forward to dinner. Grilled chicken burgers with avocado mmmmm.

See, I do mama cloth as well, so perhaps I'm not as grossed out as I should be.  Most of the online forums say it's super easy to implement if you've got kids in cloth diapers, but I obviously don't, so they'd go in a load on their own.

I picked up some flannel pants and an old terry cloth robe from the Airman's Attic to turn into cloth wipes.

  • I've got to work all day, which is a pain with a wrist wrapped up in a huge brace. After work my football team plays so I'll be relaxing watching that and eating homemade spaghetti and meatballs

She did cloth diapers but her kid is now in grade school. So she made her own wetbag, wipes, and reusable cotton balls (which has nothing to do with FC). Before reading up on FAM cloth I thought it was a family using one huge cloth to wipe. Bleh. Thank god I'm wrong.

  • The base just finished some electrical maintenance, so we have power back :-). LO I and enjoyed a nice lazy nap while the power was out. Now I'm trying to motivate myself to do some cleaning, but I'm not having much luck.

I also need to decide what to make for dinner. We're trying to clear out the pantry and freezer so I'm piecing stuff together from what's in there.

  • Working.  We decided I should take on more hours-25-30/week (previously only working 15 so I could be at home with the babes) so we can pay off our cars & other debt by the end of this year.  I'm not thrilled, but I do like that we'll have lots more $ free from bills by January.  The plan is to bulk up savings and pay down most of our debt so I can stay home permanently maybe as soon as Jan 2012.  We're also hoping for orders and when we move, I'm not going back to work.  So putting the petal to the metal now to pay off everything.  It feels good to be able to do that, but I want to be home with my family.

The good news is, we were able to bypass daycare.  M works nights, so he stays home with them.

  • Oh and Mango, more power to ya lady.  I could never do that and I'm in awe of women that go the natural/home birth route.  I hope you find someone you're comfortable with and get the home birth you want!

  • I've got work up the wazoo today, because I have to fit all five days of work into two this week. We're gearing up for the wedding on Saturday, and I'm so excited to see everyone I'm gonnnnna die!
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • I'm shopping online for baby stuff and calling people to find out when/where our household goods are and will be delivered. I'm REALLY hoping for next week!

I've been slowly transitioning to FC. DH isn't into it, but I have way more cloth wipes than I need for DS so I've been using them too.

Today I ran a bunch of errands on base - finance, library, post office, BX, frame shop, and DS got hid 6-month shots. Now I'm eating and he's napping.

  • Today's my first day off in about 10 days so I'm going to clean and get stuff done at home...but work from home for the paper too.

And my best friend is moving on Sunday so lots of play time with her too!

  • The students are back today for the start of the semester.  So I spent 20 minutes looking for a parking space, all morning changing schedules and listening to people annoyed with their roommates already.  Side note, they just moved in on Saturday.  So today at 5:30...will be my happy hour.

Excuse my annoyed tone in this post!!! It is Monday and the first day of classes.  Wine will make it all better!!!

  • I'm at work until about 4:00. B has an open house at school tonight at 5:00 so I'm leaving work early to get home and get all her school supplies packed up so we can bring them with us and drop them off.

How is it possible that I have a first grader already?

Tonight (after we get home from the open house) will be dedicated to finding a hotel room in SD for the wedding of the year! lol

  • I had myself all worked up and ready to call HR and Shriner's when I got home at lunch to see about the position and if in fact they received my cover letter and resume, to come home and realize that there is not a phone number listed with this job posting besides the number for the primary researcher if you have questions about what the position entails. I am not going to bother him with "did you get my resume don't you think I'm wonderful" crap when he is busy researching and saving lives. However I'm freaking out that they never got my stuff. What should I do??????

Anyways I'm going back to work for the afternoon and then to the grocery store I think. Ugh I just want this new job. I want a phone call when I get home saying come on over and join our team!

  • It's been an awesome day here.  DD slept 11 hours last night, we went to the park with my sister and her daughter for about an hour and a half and while she was napping I was reading One Day.

Fancy, I can't believe the twins are 5 months old today!

  • A few days ago, family I babysit for on weekends once or twice a month called me up asking if I could watch their 2 kids (11 and 6 years old) from 7 to 5 every day this week since there was some confusion with their summer camp scheduling. I said okay since the kids are typically pretty laid back and good.

I almost lost it today. The little girl had this toy dog that played "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus" and she played it over and over and over and over and over and over and over......you get the point? My eye is getting twitchy just thinking about it. Took everything in my power not to through the damnn toy out the window.

  • I am so tired because I keep having dreams that I get in a horrible car wreck and have to call Stan and tell her I can't be at her wedding because I'm in the hospital. And then I get all sad in the hospital like I'm the worst sister in the entire history of the world because I wasn't there AND because people would feel badly for me and thus not every single bit of the attention at the wedding would be on Stan and her man. I realize this is insane.

LOL! J would probably be okay with this because there would be less attention on him. No car wrecks though. Then all the practice you've had to Party in the USA will have been in vain.
