Contruction Agreement

To those who built a home, how much did you pay a lawyer to review your construction agreement/contract with a builder/general contractor?

Re: Contruction Agreement

  • I think that ours was around 1k - we requested some changes made, the builder was hesitant, required the two lawyers to talk, required research to make the language suitable for both sides.

We lost out about 1,500-2000 of legal fees due to a lot, that was not with our builder previously, in which the developer failed to comply with terms he agreed to. We walked away penalty free - except the legal fees. It was a nightmare situation. We finally decided to go with land that our builder owns - much easier lol

  • Thanks for the feedback.  Very helpful.
