Some are predicting that for this weekend because of the hurricane we're not getting. More dry air for us = higher temps.
I don't like the cold at all, but that is just damn ridiculous.

This summer seems interminable. I can't even BEGIN to think about decorating for fall when it's this hot. Blah!
We went to pick up tomato plants at cornelius nursery a couple of weeks ago. They had CHRISTMAS TREES on display.

lol. i wonder if the assault rate is higher when the temps are over 100.
i just pulled up the weather for a city in Ethiopa. Highs under 70. And lots of rain. What's wrong with this picture?
there are actual studies showing that to be totally true.
as for the rain in Ethiopia... i did a HS project in1991 that referenced studies predicting droughts in sw US and tropical weather in N africa by 2015. the research was sourced by Gore in one of his papers.

This is stupid. It's just stupid. Straight from the 10-day forecast on TWC.com (and these are ACTUAL temps, people. No heat index included):
Tues: 101
Wed: 101
Thurs: 103
Fri: 104
Sat: 105
Sun: 106 (ONE-OH-SIX. OMG.)
Mon: 102
And then next Tues and Wed, we go down to a balmy 99 and 98, respectively.
I am going to Colorado this weekend and I DO NOT want to go, but the lure of cooler weather is totally making me glad I'll miss out on the highest temps we've had yet. Until Sunday when we get back to Houston and I'll cry stepping back into ONE HUNDRED AND SIX MOTHER F*CKING DEGREES.
I want to never go outside again.
The thermometer has been reading upwards of 112 in the shade in our back yard. The other day it was on the ground and read 134.
I think the heat is making me crazy.
When you hope for temps to "just" be in the mid 90s, that's a good indication that you are a crazy person and should be locked away in a home somewhere.
Or when you go outside at 930 and think "wow it doesn't feel so bad out here" and it's 90.
Or when you run outside with a camera because there's water dripping from your roof in a tiny trickle for the first time in 8 months and then post it on FB because you're so excited.
All signs of mental illness.
ITA. I work at a chemical plant a few days a week. I was out in the plant last week in full nomex, hard hat, etc. I was in a building (with no a/c) and it was like a freaking oven. I walked out of the building into the bright sun - at 2:00pm and thought, Oh! It feels nice! There's a slight breeze! Send me to the loony bin....
Glad you said it, plaidfrogg.
LOL. Like me? I am not a fan of summer at all and this month has seriously made me considering moving. I am SO over it.
I am very glad that I don't have any cakes to deliver this weekend!
Try to keep your A/C cranked down as much as possible. There are many times that I am freezing while driving a cake, but I know it needs to be done!!! Keep it on a flat surface (NOT on the seat of the car) and that will help prevent any sliding.
its bad that i read this with a hint of sadness... like we all wish we were getting said hurricane
of course, it looks like its going to be a monster so i guess i'll take the 105 degrees over the damage she might cause
Not ok.
i did the same thing-- spent a split second wondering if the hurricane was the lesser of 2 evils.
Much needed rain and a nice breeze.
On a more serious note, so much for taking to kiddos to spectate the tri on Saturday. We would all be hot and grumpy.
we'll be hot and grumpy and there

just saw FB post:
Satan called. He wants his weather back.
holy f*ck. I'm going to die. Can we do it at 7 at night?
On a side note, I think Dylan is going to bring Olivia's portable pool if your girls want to jump in to cool off
he would be the most popular man around for sure
