Non-Clicky Poll: How much would you spend...
... on a dress for your SIL's wedding?
Sidenotes:
*you're not in the wedding, but your husband and daughter are, so you will be in many family photos
*you may only wear this dress once in the next year or so, unless you have a friend in a different group of friends that is getting married and/or you just don't care about wearing the same reception dress amongst the same group of friends.
*you're feeling really ambitious in regards to this dress purchase because you're losing weight and really want to look good this time around.

Re: Non-Clicky Poll: How much would you spend...
I'd say between $75-$150.
The dress I wore to my cousin's wedding (casual, dessert reception) was only $30 from ON.....so for a family member/IL where I had relatives in the wedding, I'd go for a more formal dress.
I'd be okay with $75-125ish. If your DH and daughter are in the wedding, you should at least kind of match the level of formality in their outfits so you look appropriate in the family photos.
Plus if you're losing weight I'd be willing to spend the extra money on something that made me look smokin' hot.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
Stand up for something you believe in.
I got a this dress from ON for like $30 for my cousins wedding-it is all cotton (yay it breathes!) and the top is stretchy smocked which makes it comfy: (and ON, Gap, Banana all have 30% off right now) <=some things will never change, I love a deal!!!
This is a bridesmaids dress I had to get for a wedding but I am in love with from j.crew-right now they have extra 30% off on the site + free shipping-they have a lot of cute dresses: (this one is the zadie)
I have this one in cotton for work and love it: (blakely from j.crew)
So back to your original question-I guess it depends-the ON dress is more casual and I will wear on a more casual basis where the blakely is more formal and I wear less but will always look nice and classic. That said, I have a blazer that goes with the ruffle collar of the blakely really nicely so that helps when it starts to get chilly out. I had a budget in my head for a dress for a miami bach party and I found something for like 85% off at macy's.
Also, I believe Ann Taylor Loft had someone do a capsule collection for them and they came out with oodles of cute dresses. I think those were ~100.
