So glad...

I am not returning to school to teach (until January but more likely for the whole year). Apparently my principal (who is horrible as I have said before) is going through peoples closets and taking things off their orders if she thinks they don't need them as well as taking things from peoples rooms. Not only does she not know how much supplies a teacher goes through but people are missing things they purchased with their own personal money. The orders haven't even been placed yet and school starts in a week. It's not like the kids need pencils, folders, etc the first week or anything. Ugh. Ok vent over!

Of course I am also very happy and lucky

to be home with Brin but that goes without saying.

  • SO many principals are SO out of touch with the classrooms anymore.  It's sad.

It isn't just in schools. I find that the higher ups in my company completely forget what it is like to be early on in their career. It is super frustrating.

Alycia - that sounds like a nightmare. I would be so mad if someone was going through my stuff like that.

  • The HS principal at my mom's district did this. She basically ripped him a new one and told him that he needed to tell the teachers what he did before they found out some other way. It's sad.....99% of what's in my classroom I paid for with my own money...outside of textbooks...and I'd be fuming if someone took "my" things out without my knowing. You know how those greedy, overpaid teachers are though...

I know right! I hope the things that I left there for my long term sub to use are still there! I don't care enough to go in and check though, I am steering clear.

  • How awful to come back to your class and find stuff missing. Not to mention unprofessional of your principal.

Enjoy your time home with Brin!

  • I hope you packed up all your personal stuff before you left! I can't imagine doing that with how much money everyone spends on their own classroom supplies.
