Ok ladies I need you help. (The girls on the bumps-Shower ideas are no help). I am throwing a little girl shower in December for a very good friend of mine. The nursery colors are brown and pink. Please help me make this really special for her. TIA

We just threw a shower for one of my friends that the colors of her nursery are pink and brown also. We got a her a pink and brown cake and I made a diaper cake for her! We had lots of good food like spinach dip, fruit tray, veggie tray, nuts and mints! We also played the baby food game and the yarn game where we guess how big around she is. I hope this helps!

I am all about celebrity gossip (sad but true).....So my friends did a game at my shower w/ matching celebrity babies w/ their parents. They got a tri-folder project board, cut celeb babies out of mags, but letters by each of them, and then on the two sides put numbers and had the parents names. They gave everyone there a piece of paper and they had to match the two under 2 or 3 min. The winner received a little gift and was actually a nestie!! I thought that it was a cute and different idea.

That cake is too cute!! There are a lot of cute diaper cakes out there using pink and brown that you could prob steal ideas from.

Another thing that we did at another shower was have people guess what the name would be and then read them all (we gave initials, but kept the name a secret)..--I had a friend do a game at her shower where people guessed the date, weight, and length since they already knew the name--..they also passed around an advice/special message book for people to write in, which I loved reading (can do different versions of this....message to the baby, story about mom for baby, etc....)

This is the diaper cake I made! I would have used pink and brown but my friends decided at the very last minute that they wanted a diaper cake so I just used stuff I had around my house! Where do you live? I could make one for you!

I am in auburn! I know how to make the daiper cake. What what would you put on the diaper cake for pink and brown. Ohh and baby's name is Greenlee.

a game we always play is "baby shower bingo"- which is super easy!  You just hand out blank bingo cards and have the guests write an item they think the mom-to-be will receive in each box (burp cloths, bottles, diapers, blanket, etc.)  and they can mark them off as she opens the gifts.  First to bingo wins!

I probably would just find some ribbon that is pink and brown and maybe if you could find any baby toys that are pink and brown you could use that as your topper instead of a ribbon like mine! Like a teddy bear or something! I know alot of people also put passies, rattles and stuff around the cake also.

So far I really like the basket game, where you pass it around quickly then everybody try to remember everything that was in the basket. ALSO what do ya'll think about the gross diaper game? Where you melt several candy pars into several diapers and everyone sniffs, taste, ect and tries to guess what kinda candy is in baby s diaper?

 As far as the diaper game....it would just really depend on the guest list. If there are a wide array of people, then I would say no...If it is close friends that you know wouldnt be too grossed out by it then I say that it would be fine.

I love the name Greenlee.  Is the mother to be an All My Children fan?  That is the only place I've heard that name before.

I had a shower for my aunt & we played a game where put samples of different kinds of baby food and everyone had to guess what they thought it was.  Whoever had the most correct won.  It was really fun!

Some more game ideas....

clothes pin game.....every person gets a "pink" clothespin and everytime you hear somebody say the word baby you steal their pin.  The person with the most wins.

Nursery Rhyme game.......make a game up with all different rhymes and the guests have to guess what rhyme you are talking about.  For example you might say 1. Man that needs to be put back together.  Answer is Humpty Dumpty.  Its harder than you think to get alot right.
