Hey - I was reading your blog the other day and I meant to page you a week or so ago....

Anyway - I read the post about finding a night race.  You may already know this, but the RNR Vegas (December 4th, I think) is run on the strip in the evening.  It sounds right up your alley.  I really want to do that race, but I don't think we will have the funds to make it to Vegas.

I'm also curious what kind of hand held water bottle you have.  I noticed it in one of your pics.  I am in the market for one...as summer is coming to an end.  :)  I wish I would have gotten one at the beginning of the summer because the midwest heat and humidity has really knocked my running down a few pegs.

I hope your training is going well.  I'm jealous of your two races coming up.  I don't have any 1/2s on my schedule right now.  Good luck!

  • Oh my gosh that is so cool. I didn't know the Rock and Roll Las Vegas was at night! I haven't done a Rock and Roll race yet, and I've heard they're great. It's too bad it's a Sunday night instead of a Saturday - that definitely guarantees I'd have to take a day off of work, and I'm running low on those this year. I see what you mean about the funds, too. Not only would you have to fly to Vegas (at least I could drive), but that is a super steep entry fee. Like, twice what I usually pay. Maybe we should meet there next year!

This is my running water bottle. It's available from Athleta, but I actually bought it at the expo before the OC Half. I really like it. The water sloshes a little, but I don't notice it at all and the strap makes it really easy to carry. I carry it most of the time now that my runs are getting a little longer.

Training is going pretty well, planning on a 9 miler tomorrow! Are you looking into any races right now? I feel like I'm constantly getting emails for new ones that I want to sign up for!
