5.8 earthquake hits Washington D.C.!

dang.
Most of my company is located in Boston, with a few offices elsewhere on the east coast. I've already talked to our corporate security team, and it's kind of odd to be on the other side of that whole scenario (I manage the San Francisco office's emergency response plan).
Plus, my old boss was a transplant from Boston. He was always very concerned about experiencing an earthquake out here, and pushed for a lot of earthquake awareness/training. He just moved back to Boston a year ago, and it's a little funny that now he experiences an earthquake.
That is ironic, Dani. I am surprised there was a relatively sizable one in CO, too. When ppl were posting it on FB I thought it had happened in the Bay Area. Hopefully neither one caused damage or injury.
ETA: It's kind of funny that the PBS program American Experience posted this on FB just now: "Shaken by the earthquake, East Coast? Did you know that "The Great San Francisco Earthquake" was our first program? Take our Quake Quiz to test your knowledge of the natural disaster that hit the West Coast city in 1906."

I didn't feel a thing in Boston but my co-workers and others in the area did. Maybe I'm just immune to a little tremor after six years of living in the Bay Area!
I didn't know there was one in CO too!
I felt it and when I went out to tell the guys, none of them believed me!
Haha. So weird to have an earthquake on the east coast! (Now people I grew up with in New York have felt one and even though I live in California, I still never have experienced one.)
ETA: So I guess the Bay Area didn't want to be left out. Apparently a 3.6 centered in Hayward tonight at 11:36 pm.

i have a cousin who lives there (she grew up in MI so earthquakes are something she only heard her west coast relatives talk about) and was a lil rattled. maybe it's a VERY good thing that her hubby grew up in Marin where these things happen w/ a wee bit more regularity and he wasn't too worried, just startled that it happened THERE !
