Organic shopping in west suburbs

We just moved to Chicago from metro Detroit and are living in the west suburbs.  I know there is Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for organic food, but are there any other organic markets here?  Do any of the big chain stores (like Jewel Osco) carry much organic food?  I will probably do the bulk of my shopping at TJ's and WF's but was wondering if there were other options.  Any information appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Organic shopping in west suburbs

  • We are also from Detroit (Livonia)!

Anyway, Jewel only has a little organic(just processed stuff, a little poor quality produce).  Dominics has none.  Meijer is my favorite, they have a large selection of good quality organic produce and processed foods, they also have their own brand of organics.

  • Thanks!  I did not realize they had Meijer here.  They have a decent selection except the produce is hit and miss.  For staple items though, they are pretty good.  I will head to Meijer this next week. Oh and we just moved from Troy.  DH's brother lives in Livonia.
