Rainbow Dear Jane - PIP heavy

So...I dove in.  I only knew how to quilt rectangles and stitch in the ditch.  I saw this and couldn't stop thinking about it.... so...I dove in.  A bit over my head... but my LQS is being very supportive.

Each month, I receive a package of material and directions on how to make the blocks.  I only have two more blocks to complete for August.  School starts back up soon, so I know I will get behind... but I am excited!  Even an earthquake can't seem to stop me!  I had never pieced other geometric shapes - they aren't perfect, but I'm content!  Oh - I don't do pinwheels - they remind me of swastikas.  Finding alternatives and converting them has been an additional challenge!

Thanks for looking :o)

  • Do you follow Anina's thatquilt blog? I guess it probably has the same instructions that come with the Rainbow Jane quilt BOM.

I made a baby sized quilt by picking and choosing my favorite blocks (which was hard cause there are so many great ones!) and following along with Anina's directions.  I definitely learned a lot from those blocks.  I only made about 30, it is impressive that you are going to do them all.

  • **casey** I have only experienced month #1.  There seem to be six 4.5-5 inch squares and three triangles.  I am not sure if that is true throughout..

**gator** thank goodness for her blog.  Whenever I've been unsure that is the first place to check...but she is experienced...and uses words like applique as if the reader knows what that is....thus you tube and LQS have been very helpful!  225 squares is a bit overwhelming!

Where did you get the pattern to copy onto freezer paper?  Which squares did you end up using??
